Joy permeates life at GMS. Here, our students feel safe–to be themselves, to try new things, to stretch in new ways. Social connections are the foundation of a strong learning environment. In our culture of kindness and respect, students can focus on deep learning and are more likely to take healthy risks.
In a girl-centered environment, students can be uninhibited in a way not seen in co-ed schools, building confidence and voice. In a collaborative classroom, students support one another actively and willingly. Our halls buzz with activity and ring with laughter.


Mutual trust and respect define the relationship between students and teachers at GMS. As girls are testing boundaries and forming their identities in middle school, GMS teachers – experts in this life stage – are at their side for mentorship and support. These joyful and nurturing relationships embolden our students and are the reason our teachers return to GMS year after year.
All students are accepted and celebrated for who they are at GMS. We continually work to create and sustain an inclusive community that fosters genuine belonging.
