The students who thrive at GMS are willing to take risks, stretch themselves, think critically, and learn from each other. GMS students are kind, curious, and accepting of their peers. The GMS community is as engaged as our student body, so we appreciate families who are interested in getting involved with and contributing to the GMS experience.

As a school equally committed to meeting the unique needs of girls and promoting the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, GMS has developed the following policies regarding gender identity.

• We consider for admission any student who identifies as a girl when applying.
• Once a member of the GMS community, we acknowledge and support the gender identity of every GMS student and alum.
• At GMS girls refers to gender expansive youth (cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth, and any girl-identified youth).

Each year GMS enrolls between 64-68 students in the 6th grade. On a limited basis, we can admit students into the 7th and 8th grade. If you are seeking a spot in our 7th or 8th grade class, please contact the Admission team directly.

GMS enrolls students from more than 45 independent, parochial, and public elementary schools from approximately 18 towns around the Bay Area ranging from Hillsborough to San Jose.

We provide a carpooling map for families to coordinate rides with one another and also offer a morning and afternoon shuttle service for an extra fee. We also encourage families nearby to walk or bike to school when possible.

The Girls’ Middle School strives to be an inclusive and accessible community. An integral part of our mission is to develop a student body from diverse backgrounds, including families from all income levels. To achieve this goal, we offer a Flexible Tuition Program and The Bennett Scholars Program.

• Flexible Tuition enables qualifying families to pay a tuition amount that is adjusted to their capacity. Flexible Tuition is determined through an annual review process that considers many factors affecting a family’s ability to pay tuition. A family’s income, family size, assets, expenses, other tuition obligations, and extenuating circumstances are all considered in determining the tuition contribution.
• The Bennett Scholars Program supports high-achieving girls who attend under-resourced elementary schools and often represent the first generation in their families to be college bound. In addition to a full scholarship, we provide Bennett Scholars with laptops, lunches, uniforms, one-on-one tutoring, and the costs of all trips and material expenses.

Admission decisions will be posted on your Ravenna account on March 12, 2027, after 4:00 pm. Enrollment contracts are due by noon on March 19, 2027.

Every year, GMS has more qualified applicants than we are able to admit. Some of these applicants are placed in our wait pool, which typically remains active throughout the spring and sometimes into summer. If a spot becomes available, wait pool applicants are contacted. We cannot guarantee acceptance to GMS from the wait pool.
