Getting to Know GMS
There are many ways to get to know GMS. Every admission event is open and available to all families. We have created these events as a way to share what we believe is special about GMS and offer you the opportunity to experience the warmth of our community for yourself.
Attendance at all events is optional. We strive to make the application process as simple and stress-free as possible. We seek diversity through all aspects of the school and encourage all interested families to learn more about our program. You do not need to submit an application or application fee to participate in our events.
When the admission season opens in September, you will be able to view all event dates and register for events through the Ravenna system.
Event registration opens in Ravenna on September 1, 2026.

Middle School Preview Day: Why GMS?
Our Preview Day is a one-stop shop for you and your fifth grader to experience the energy of our students, the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the warmth of our broader community. You will learn about our enduring mission, our dynamic program, and the vast array of co-curricular and leadership opportunities for our students.
At Preview Day, you will hear from the Head of School, the Admission Team, GMS teachers, and a panel of current students and alums.
This event is for families intending to apply in the current season only (not future years). We highly recommend that all applicant families attend a Preview Day. Spanish translation is available at both Preview Days. Please register to attend through your Ravenna account.
Campus Visit / Parent Tour: GMS in Action!
There’s no better way to get a personal sense of life at GMS than during a Campus Visit / Parent Tour. Fifth grade student visitors are paired with a sixth grade host and buddy as they attend classes together throughout the morning. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay for a Parent Tour, during which the Admission Team will answer questions and accompany you on a tour of classrooms in action.
View specific dates and register for a Campus Visit / Parent Tour through the Ravenna system. Please note that we do not conduct any type of applicant evaluation or assessment during the Campus Visit.
Parent Info Sessions
Our community says it best! We encourage you to talk directly with current and alum families, teachers, and staff about our dynamic, enriching curriculum, our joyful learning environment, and how we prepare students to thrive in high school and beyond. Feel free to register for as many of these gatherings as you choose. Dates and details for all gatherings are available in Ravenna.
GMS 101
Join us for one of several information sessions designed to help families learn more about The Girls’ Middle School and the admission process. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions directly to our Admission Team and get answers in real time.
Parent-to-Parent Chats
Talk with current and alum GMS parents about their GMS experience and the transition to high school. Some events are organized by location, which might be helpful if you have questions about your commute or your local public high school, for example. Other events are hosted on Zoom and are not location-specific.
Leadership Team Q & A
Join our Head of School, Assistant Head of School, and faculty members on Zoom to talk about all things GMS. Christine and Zoe will share their thoughts on why the middle school years are so crucial, what it means to be a progressive school, the magic of GMS’s hands-on curriculum, and more. Bring your questions!
Bennett Scholars Program Coffee and Conversation
This event is for families interested in The Bennett Scholars Program. Come and meet the Program Director, Head of School, Admission Team, and Bennett Scholar families, who will answer your questions. This event is in person at GMS and offered in Spanish.
Tuition Assistance Information Session
All families are encouraged to learn more about tuition assistance at GMS–our Flexible Tuition Program and The Bennett Scholars Program. We will review the process to apply, documents required, and timeline. There will be an opportunity to ask general questions about both programs. Spanish translation is available for this event. Please register for this event through the Ravenna system.
