Only the GMS Tuition Assistance Committee will see the information you provide in your Clarity application. The Committee is composed of the Director of Admission, Controller, Chief Business Officer, Head of School, and Director of The Bennett Scholars Program. GMS takes the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. Clarity is certified for both GDPR and SOC2 and uses enterprise-level security standards including end-to-end encryption of all personally identifiable information. No. We make admission decisions independent of a student’s application for Flexible Tuition.

Families must submit a new Clarity application each year that they wish to apply for Flexible Tuition. GMS aims to offer Flexible Tuition at a comparable level each year, as long as family circumstances do not change dramatically.

Admission decisions are made independent of Flexible Tuition awards. Both decisions are available in Ravenna on March 12, 2027.

Flexible Tuition is determined through an annual review process that considers many factors affecting a family’s ability to pay tuition. A family’s income, family size, assets, expenses, other tuition obligations, and extenuating circumstances are all considered in determining the tuition contribution. While we aim to meet the demonstrated need of every admitted student, our budget and the number of families applying for Flexible Tuition are also factors. We may not have the resources to offer Flexible Tuition to every student who qualifies for both admission and a reduced tuition in a given year. Families who qualify for Flexible Tuition but do not receive a tuition reduction may be placed on a Flexible Tuition waitlist.

If the student has assets (savings, trust accounts, etc.), the formula includes these assets in calculating the amount the parents can pay for tuition.

We offer a Tuition Assistance Information Session in early December. Please register through the Ravenna system. We will review the process to apply, documents required, and timeline. There will be an opportunity to ask general questions about Flexible Tuition and the Bennett Scholars Program.

Flexible Tuition is based on the family’s capacity to pay as demonstrated by the information submitted in the Clarity application. Both custodial and non-custodial parents/guardians (regardless of legal settlements) who are divorced, separated, or never married are required to submit a Clarity application. In exceptional cases where one parent cannot comply, the custodial parent should submit a written explanation. Lack of information from either parent may significantly affect the Flexible Tuition amount.
