The Bennett Scholars Program

Supporting Students Achieve Higher Education

The Bennett Scholars Program supports high-achieving girls who often attend under-resourced elementary schools and represent the first generation in their families to be college bound. Bennett Scholars receive a comprehensive scholarship and wrap-around support to enable them to attend GMS. Our goal is to help each student launch themselves on a new trajectory into high school, college, and beyond.

While at GMS, in addition to tuition, we provide Bennett Scholars with laptops, lunches, uniforms, one-on-one tutoring, and the costs of all trips and material expenses. Bennett Scholar families are offered an array of resources and support, ranging from transportation and language interpretation to counseling and mentorship. Bennett Scholars receive application support in applying to high school, and graduates receive assistance and tutoring to prepare for college applications.

I want to be a robotics engineer or a coder. I aspire to design robots that take care of people, such as nurses, and contribute to creating a better world.

Class of 2024 Bennett Scholar

How It Works

The Bennett Scholars Program is funded through the generosity of our parents, alums, and members of the community. The program’s ultimate goal is to ensure that each student and her family know that when she leaves GMS, she can determine her own path to whatever future she desires.

GMS Bennett Scholars have pursued higher education at esteemed universities and colleges across the state and country. Notably, the seniors from the Class of 2023 embarked on their academic journeys at institutions such as Cornell University, UC Santa Cruz, University of San Francisco, Santa Clara University, Foothill College, and UC Davis.
